There is a limited amount of people that can go on to each show. Some must be eliminated each week. There is a scarcity of how many people can make it on to the next show and win the final prize. Everyone wants a million dollars and a show in Vegas, but only one act can have it. The viewers and judges decide who they like more. If they vote for one act, they may be sending another good group home. All of the viewers think about all of the tradeoffs before they vote, because they could be potentially sending someone home. The winner is found very reasonably. Since America votes it isn’t just one persons opinion. Equality is shown because all of the competitors have the same equal chance as anyone else who tries out.
